Etruscans

What we know today of the Etruscans can largely be attributed to their extraordinary burial tombs which were often decorated with images depicting their life on this earth and also life after death. The archeological museum of Chiusi holds an impressive collection and includes a visit to the tombs found in the surrounding countryside. In addition to this itinerary one could also visit the Tomba della Quadriga Infernale (The tomb of the Infernal Quadriga) in Sarteano, discovered in 2003 it represents one of the most well-preserved wall paintings ever found.
